Albert Joseph Penot was a French painter and illustrator who was born on November 5, 1871 in Paris, France. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and became known for his landscapes, portraits, and genre scenes.
Penot was a member of the Society of French Artists and regularly exhibited his work at the Paris Salon. He also illustrated books, including editions of works by Victor Hugo and Charles Baudelaire.
Penot's paintings are characterized by their vibrant colors and expressive brushwork. He often depicted scenes of everyday life in Paris, as well as rural landscapes and portraits of women.
Penot died in 1930, but his work continues to be highly regarded and is held in collections around the world.
